Madjestic Kasual + Pelle Rock - The Swarm

Absolutely ill mixtape from Madjestic Kasual and Pelle Rock, released by the newly minted Harpemonia label. "The Swarm" is sixty scorching minutes of post-internet club edits, deconstructed remixes, rap bangers and sleazy dembow obscurities that revive the mad vibe once championed by Beastonleash.biz, Fade to Mind, GHE20G0TH1K and DIS magazine. Around the 16:00 min mark there's a remix of Linkin Park's "Castle Of Glass" that should blow your socks off, but honestly the whole tape is full of tracks that will make your head bop. Essential stuff, and free to download too! Get it from Soundcloud here.

V.A. - Re:Mission Entertainment: 2022 Label Compilation

Re:Mission Entertainment has been on a steady path to become one of my fav labels specialising in industrial, EBM and witch house since they launched a few years ago. On December 23rd they dropped their new "sampler" compilation, showcasing their talent and some of the best cuts from their recent and forthcoming releases. My personal favourites are Bara Hari, Dead Voices On Air x Snowbeasts, Black Agent, Mentallo & The Fixer, Sidewalks and Skeletons and SØLVE. Incredible music that channels past, present and future, it's a perfect starting point for anyone hoping to discover and dig into Re:Mission catalogue. The label will be pressing this sampler on limited CDs which can be ordered on Bandcamp here, otherwise you can also download it there for free. Stream it in full below.

Fulu Kolektiv - Lualaba

Fulu Kolektiv, "eco-friendly, Afro-futurist" electro-punk group from the capital city of Democratic Republic of Congo, is a sister initiative to the Fulu Miziki. Formed due to the limitations imposed by COVID pandemic and lack of open spaces (used for recording Fulu Miziki music), the group reformed and shifted their attention to computers. The result of this new approach is "Lualaba", a 12-track experimental album that captures the spirits of various African club sounds, and mixes them with elements of art-pop, juke, bass music, blues and a dozen others. Peculiar and fun ride from start to finish.

You can purchase the album here, stream below.

Oliver Decrow - I Touch You

Oliver Decrow is a Dresden-based electronic producer, who came on my radar thanks to M‡яc▲ll▲'s latest Soundcloud reposting spree. Oliver's latest single "I Touch You" came out on G50 Records, and it's a classic sounding, mechanical EBM banger. Featuring vocals from the man himself and Kikita B, the single will appeal to fans of Oraculo Records and Detriti catalogue. Cop it here.

Ye Gods - Babalon Works

This one came out of nowhere tbh, or maybe it's my music radar that's being clogged with mediocre stuff lately. Anyway, Ye Gods is back with a new LP! Exciting times, after that sick split with Sacred Lodge last year. "Babalon Works" came out on December 2nd via Phage Tapes on vinyl in multiple limited editions, if you have FOMO problems, this one may be triggering. The album itself is a collection of cold beats that channel ghosts of industrial past, electronic body music mutations and skeletal remains of electro, house and techno. It takes a while to get into it, but once you do, replay button will be your friend.

The album is out in digital format on Ye Gods bandcamp here, or on vinyl from the label here. Stream after the jump.

Endgames - Hand Me The Cash

"Hand Me The Cash" is a new album from the Dallas beatmaker Endgames. Following the footsteps of his "Fantasia 1" mixtape, the record is a collection of dragged and edited beats and hits, that pay homage to the early witch house days. Mellow lo-fi vibe.

Cop the record here, it's only $1. Stream down below.

Beau Wanzer - Warm Waterboarding

Oooof, Beau Wanzer is back, after that dope split with Hieroglyphic Being on Natural Sciences a couple of months ago. "Warm Waterboarding", which you can check out above, is a cut from his upcoming 12" EP to be released in January 2023 via Swedish iDEAL Recordings. Rad minimal electronics.

MORGVE - Bankruptcy / The Outcast // video

New video for a double single from MORGVE, lifted from their new album "Bestiary" that was released just a week ago. Youtube is being a dick and doesn't let me properly embed it, so head over you the band's channel here to check it out.

Dagger Forest label is back

I'm happy to announce that I will be restarting my label Dagger Forest, which I founded in 2014 and ended up putting out 8 tapes and a promo CDr before I had to put it all on hold. After a seven year hiatus I'll be releasing three exciting albums on cassettes from some of the most amazing artists that have been pushing the boundaries of the undeground: Stay Healthy's "Dirt", Edith Underground's "Heaven's Night" and SCYTHE's "Candlelit Descent Down the Initiation Well", coming out December 27, 28 and 29 respectively. Follow DF on Bandcamp here.

V.A. - Thee Alpha And Thee Omega Vol X

Rad new compilation from Clan Destine Records, final one in the Alpha And Omega series that's been running since February 2021. Organised by Carl Clandestine, he invited 11 underground music outcasts for this project, including Mascara (who hasn't released anything new since his album in 2015), Nattymari, Cave Castle, Filmmaker, Dim Deck and more. Techno, acid, electro, EBM, phonk and more wicked shit.

There are a handful of copies left on tape, you can grab them here. Stream the whole thing below.

SØLVE - Earth Inferno

Last year's reissue of "The Negative" from SØLVE put him back on the map and I feel like it gave him a great boost to set the stage for his sophomore album "Earth Inferno". Promoted by a maxi-single "Never + Enough" a year before, the record finally dropped in June this year via Re:mission Entertainment and it's a blast. Following the footsteps of "The Negative", it's a triumph in building haunting atmospheres and gloomy melodies through meticulously arranged drums, keys and vocal delivery (which sounds crispier and more powerful than ever before). The lead single ""Never + Enough" in particular is an addictive gem that sounds better after each replay. Industrial meets cinematic sound design, I'm sold.

The album is out now on CD and tapes, and can be purchased here. Stream after the jump.

Cousin Silas & The Glove of Bones - New Runes

Cousin Silas (Dave Hughes) and Glove of Bones (Adrian Nicholls) are frequent collaborators that carved their own niche constructed from dub and ambient sounds. Their new album "New Runes", released like most of their previous LPs by Submarine Broadcasting Company, takes a different, but equally interesting approach - it's more of a library record that could serve as a source for various snippets of sounds, soundscapes and moods. Dark ambient meets art rock meets psych-beat and dub, all filtered through the lenses of hauntology and drones. If Finders Keepers or Ghost Box are your go-to labels, check this one out.

"New Runes" is out now on cassette tapes here (including regular and special editions), and stream it down below.

Ourobonic Plague - Emp Cap

New single from Ourobonic Plague, a ticking dark ambient parcel that landed on one of the doorsteps on Elm Street. Hauntology music for ghouls and ghosts. Download here.

Teaching in Trips x CRASPORE - Arrival

Witch house collab between Teaching and Trips and CRASOPORE. Harsh synth mixed with melancholic keys a'la Hans Zimmer, all backed with heavy beats and distant vocals.

Rituel Encens - II : Batouly

Rituel Encens is a dream pop duo founded by Ein Rijin of Evil Symbols and vocalist Bat Kalaayan. They premiered their sophomore album "II : Batouly" a few days go, and it's been a frequent guest in my music player ever since. Ghostly melodies and celestial soundscapes (wonderfully accented by organ, keys and strings) serve as a backdrop for hip-hop infused beats that carry the listener through the gates of this sonic purgatory, unsure whether to follow the path painted by Bat's angelic vocals or the ominous atmospheres lurking in the distance. Depite this ounce of gothic darkness, it is a truly ethereal, dreamy stuff.

Buy the album here, stream down below.

209 Sins - Frost Seeps Into The Catacombs

209 Sins is Jonathan Missile, post-witchhouse experimental producer from Dayton, Ohio. I've been a massive fan of his music for the past 5-6 years now (check out the amazing "Gore X Tempo" EP for example), but in the past couple of years he went off grid and didn't release much. Well it will change soon, because for 2023 he's planning to unleash two new albums. In the meantime, he shared with me his latest single "Frost Seeps Into The Catacombs" - retro-futuristic synth creeper that will appeal to both giallo and witch house fans.

V.A. - Ombra Intl 024: Eternity

New 5-way split from Ombra International, featuring some serious gems from Shubostar, Unconscious, Astroloop, Sugar Rody and Aural Trace. New beat, new disco, new italo, all new and punchy with a synthwave gloss. Sugar Rody's track here is my personal winner, fantastic jam.

Buy "Eternity" here, stream below.

Mong Tong - Indies 印

Wonderfully mellow 4-track goodness from the Taiwanese brothers Mong Tong, channelling some of that Not Not Fun psychedelia and far-east library music. "Indies 印" feels like a light breeze filled with tropical flavours that hits faces of sonic explorers cruising in search of their next tropic adventure. Love it!

Order on vinyl here, or digital from Bandcamp. Check it out after the jump.

Aleksi Myllykoski - St. Virus

Fantastic dark jazz and moody ambient album from Helsinki-based musician, sound designer and DJ Aleksi Myllykoski. Released by his label Signature Dark, "St. Virus" is his sonic response to the Covid pandemic, tackled both from an individual point of view as well as as a collective event. Featuring a number of musicians, most notably the saxophone of Tapani Rinne who's guest starring on five out of seven tracks, the album is a must for fans of Ben Frost, previously blogged NEONNOONE or the even the Arthur King collective.

"St. Virus" is out now on vinyl which can be ordered here. Stream it in full below.

NEONNOONE - Noir & Jazz & Dark & Slow...

NEONNOONE is a Miami-based quartet (Kolin Zein, Dmitry Ishenko, Dave Miller and Elijah Shiffer) who released their debut album in February this year. Five dark jazz compositions that could seductively seep through the cracks of the The Bang Bang Bar in Twin Peaks. Midnight-infused music for lonely late-night drivers. Fantastic stuff that should appeal to Bohren & Der Club Of Gore and David Lynch fans.

Download the album here, while there make sure to also check out their excellend Twin Peaks theme cover. Stream it below.

Hex Wolves - Lowest Domain

Hex Wolves is the alter ego of Benjamin Thompson (D/SIR, Cursed Chimera) from Santa Cruz, CA. His latest single "Lowest Domain", inspired by Jordan Peele's horror film "Us", is an industrial-flavoured ominous bass mutation that perfectly evokes the feeling of anxiety that the movie induces. Paired with two remixes from V▲LH▲LL and Circle Six, the whole release is a great starting point for anyone unfamiliar with Ben's work. Buy / stream it here.

Persefone - Ecce Beatam Lucem

Released in 2021 by OTCRAH Records "Ecce Beatam Lucem" is the latest EP from Mexican producer Persefone. It's an excursion into the world of experimental electronics and obscure sampling, with glitch, noise, drone, trip-hop, witchhouse, trap and a dozen of other genres stealthily camouflaged throughout. Each track here is almost a separate release in its own right, my fav being "Lamento Di Persefone". Check it out, it's free.

Medulasa - Legacies: A Tron Legacy Soundtrack

Medulasa took on a task to rescore Tron, with the complete soundtrack scheduled for the upcoming online festival SMHOAKSTOCK that runs throughout the first two weeks of December. But thanks to the Bandcamp day we're getting a hefty "excerpts" version of it now. "Legacies" is a futuristic sonic response to a science fiction classic, Bunny's sound fluidly moves between synth-ambient and IDM soundscapes, cyberpunk trance and techno, and they even throw in a dystopian metal curveball because why the hell not. Very well crafted record that not only Tron fans will appreciate for sure.

Make sure to support Medulasa by buing the album here, alternatively you can stream it below.

Louisahhh - Live Band Live At ADE

Live recording from Louisahhh's set performed in October at Amsterdam Dance Events at Melkweg as part of Dave Clarke Presents. It was recorded by DJ Mr Spring (RTE RADIO) and features Bertrand James on live drums and Nicolas Viande on "machines" duties. The first couple of tracks suffer from clipping, but the rest of the set is an amazing sample of what Louisahhh has to offer in a live setting. *chefs kiss*

You can download the whole set here, and stream it below.
