И⸸CO▽SLΛVΞ is a relatively new face on the witch house scene, he was previously releasing music under Detuned Bastard (▲DΣ†∐NΣD▲ᗸ△S†△RD▲) name. Hailing from Germany, his take on the genre feels very mainstream, in the Blvck Ceiling kinda way. Nico knows how to play with melody, his beat work is amazing, bass packs a punch and synth lines will make you bop your head. Very exciting stuff, his Soundcloud is full of good tunes, one to watch in 2024! Follow him on Soundcloud here and make sure to sub to his Youtube channel.

Montoya - Sores (OCD)

Catching up with Montoya's releases, he's dropped so much good stuff lately. "Sores" is actually sampling "OCD" from the Ukrainian legend Churchterror. These two need to collab one day.

Banal Minutiae - Knife Dance // video

Absolutely epic dark synthwave single from Banal Minutiae, paired with some seriously amazing footage from Maniac Cop. "Knife Dance" is lifted from BM's debut EP on Vertigo Cult.

Hardgore2000 - Ambient Gore

This has to be one of the best album covers I've seen in a long while. Milan-based producer and designer Hardgore2000 dropped an EP on Vertigo Cult a few days ago entitled "Ambient Gore". And just like the title might suggest, the music contained here is both ambient and gore, with the overwhelming footprint of the latter. It's like something out of the 2010 witch house lore, with no respect for boundaries or genres, but still firmly sitting within the broad witchy universe. Uneasy vocals samples mixed with ethereal atmospheres and distant beats make this release equally mellow and uncomfortable. Truly an experience.

Damia(n) Dolorem - Rip The Veil

Damia(n) Dolorem is a producer from Amsterdam, Netherlands whose work prior to this release was occupying a doomed space inbetween dark ambient, noisy drone and power electronics. For "Rip The Veil" EP, he's branching out by incorporating elements of witch house and dark synthwave in his haunted soundscapes. The 14 minute long suite "Gloom+Doom" is an ever-evolving take on witchy standards, with buzz synths, pulsing beats and distorted keys, but combined together to make a unique blend of rough and unsettling music. "Ripped The Veil" on the other hand dares to flirt more with melody with its industrial beats and midnight synths, while giving a nod to slasher genre by dropping vocal samples.

Pharmacist - If You Get Lost On The Way // video

I've had a pleasure to listen to this song for the past few months now, and I'm incredible stoked that Pharmacist has finally released it as a video single. Incredible songwriting and mood building. It's lifted from his new album "Kill Everyone Now".

Hardgore2000 - IMBACKMOTHR // video

"IMBACKMOTHR" is the lead single from Hardgore2000's new EP "Ambient Gore" that just dropped on Vertigo Cult. Sick visuals for a song that's hard to pigeon hole, but sounds like a live recording from hell. Video by Weird Daze.

Motion Colors - Genesis

Motion Colors is a new project of multi-disciplinary artist Andrew Reiersen. His debut EP "Genesis" came out today and it's a lush trip down the ambient-leaning wave lane. Ethereal and purposefully inaudible vocals and whispers give all the three tracks character, but it's the dreamy production that ties the release all together. Andrew's style is somewhere between "Wander / Wonder"-era Balam Acab (but in a beatless mode), emotional soundscape crafting of Makeup, and ambient-trance that has been often explored by Malibu, Sun Angels and Oklou. Love it, recommended!

Head Shoppe - Seance // video

"Seance" is the latest video single from Head Shoppe, a new project from LA's Eric "Cashew" Harding. Mysterious melodies that feel like sourced from some forgotten library records, mixed with a pinch of French boutique music vibe and acoustic guitar strumming make this mellow psych-folk track a curious introduction to the upcoming self-titled LP that will come out on June 7th on Meadows Heavy Recorders.

Experimentos Geometricos - Ex2

Experimentos Geometricos is a duo consisting of José María Málaga and Chino Burga from Peru. "Ex2" may only hold two tracks, but they do leave a mark. Trippy sound manipulations burried under layers of dragged Peruvian pop songs. Excellent stuff. Album in the works!

The ever-amazing STRFLL shared his remix of "Shut Eye" from Three Wishes collaborative EP with Pharmacist. The remix originally appeared in his Seance mixtape, but I'm really glad we got to hear it on its own. Stream it here.

Ghost Mirror - Possession // video

Here's the lead single from Ghost Mirror's "Possession" EP that came out earlier this month via Vertigo Cult. Promotional video was created by Weird Daze and features footage from an obscure 70s horror flick "The Incredible Melting Man".

Trials - 333

Here's a return from the grave. Trials were a witch-house duo from Wales that popped up on the url scene back when CRIM3S influences were all over the place. They did an album for Chilean label Equilateral Records, and then sort of disappeared. Until now. Last month they dropped this huge, 33-track mixtape that dives into their past and present, including original tracks as well as a ton of remixes. Something for everyone.

Ghost Mirror - Possession

Ghost Mirror's "Possession" EP marks the launch of the new witch house netlabel Vertigo Cult. Echoes of twisted and mutated In Death It Ends filtered through MSV control board ripple from the speakers on track one, followed by a classic witch drag tune ("Exorcism") and a ghost drone remix of the original ("Prayer"). Posadas - Kyrie Eleison

Posadas is a duo from Dallas, TX. Their debut compilation "Kyrie Eleison", collecting a number of previously released singles and EPs, was released in October last year by Save State Records. Hyperpop / emo / witch house mashup that's both fun and chaotic.

Coffin Kids - Gold Fang$

Coffin Kids is the latest project from the Philly-based duo of brothers Mark Johnson and Kevin Johnson. Their previous projects include 3xit3y3z and the excellent Alison Fulci. As Coffin Kids they go deep into the witch rap territory, ressurecting the ghosts of Trip Cult and CVL† SH‡†. The single is promoting their upcoming album. Download it here.

yyycry - Blade Rain EP

yyycry is a witch house producer and vocalist from Dresden, Germany. Her debut EP "Blade Rain" came out earlier this year and it's definitely worth sharing with fans of all occultronica fans. Musically, yyycry manages to capture the spirit of witch house across the ages, her compositions sound both lo-fi and DIY while maintaining quality of arrangements and dripping with good melodies. It's the vocals that are chery on the cake here though, adding an extra layer of ethereal boost to the whole experience. Solid debut, looking forward to hear more. Fans of early IC3PEAK and Peachblack should check this out in a blink.

OKKVLT KΛTT - Mo Áthas

Epic. That's the word that comes to my mind after spending over three weeks with this album (to my delight) on my playlist. After a four year long hiatus, "Mo Áthas" marks the return of Mike Starita and his Okkvlt Katt project. He delivers his magnum opus for the newly minted label Séance. The record is a living proof of Mike's artistic growth, showcasing his honed craftsmanship and allowing a glimpse into some of the eclectic influences that impacted his sessions. Kicking off to the sound of cleansing rain, like washing off old sins and troubles, "Mo Áthas" heralds not only a new approach for the artist himself, but also delivers a breath of fresh air to the genre. It is a sonic statement that's both futuristic and deeply rooted in the folklore. Wonderful album from start to finish. Do no miss it.

German Army - Connaigre

Yet another album from the busiest underground outfit German Army. "Connaigre" marks the return of the band to Aught\Void, after their 2017 album "Tewa". Compositions on this record feel quite sparse, some give nod to minimal wave and drone soundscapes, but ultimately they stay within the obscure electronic niche that GeAr carved for themselves many years ago. Solid stuff.

Haárps - Overdosed feat. Skaen // video

Here's the latest video from Ilya Arkhipov (aka Haárps) for his new alt-metal single "Overdosed". He employed the help of fellow producer Skaen, Mücahid on lead guitar, Konstantin Ter-Grigoryan on bass and Shamil Gadzhiev on drums. Not my cup of tea overall, takes me back to the early 00s when I was scanning MTV and VIVA for hip-hop clips only to face hours of alt-rock singles. It is, however, a step in a new direction after his previous LPs that were more rooted in electronic realm. "Overdosed" can be purchased here.

V▲LH▲LL - Nocturnal Eyes
