CRAVE's latest EP "Meathook" is a sonic continuation of his "Save Room" concept album, where the focus is on buliding atmosphere with beatless tones and noises rather than overload your senses with grimey beats and synths. Harsh ambient and noir-industrial soundscapes for escape rooms and D&D dungeons. Stream here and pre-order the CD by directly DMing him on Instagram here. Super dope.

Exome - When The World Ends I Will Breathe A Sigh Of Relief
"When The World Ends I Will Breathe A Sigh Of Relief" is the first release from Paso Inferior Tapes that was not produced by its founder John. Exome is an experimental noise musician from Italy, and this album seems like a perfect introduction to his bone-crushing and captivating world of power electronics. One hour of gritty textures and industrial soundscapes clashing with each other, stuff that I'd normally not be into, but Exome manages to grab my attention with an underlying narrative that lurks in the dark alleys of his sound. Fascinating stuff. Grab a CD if you can, those shouldn't last long...

nevada_jerky_gurl23 - PIT Podcast N°5
Fifth radio show from Paso Inferior Tapes (check out #4 here), this time Jon is spinning wicked shit under his nevada_jerky_gurl23 alias. Freshly scythed and reassembled collage of breakcore, speedcore, industrial and noise. Not for the faint hearted.

Lieu Noir - On The Bed Confused
I'm still processing how amazing that last month's Sniper Bait LP is, but no rest for the wicked I guess, because John Katsav is back with a new album as Lieu Noir. Nefarious phonk, funeral trap, gloom witchhouse and sci-findustrial clash on "On The Bed Confused", forming a captivating release that's an ode to screwed music. Recorded between 2018 and 2022, the album effortlessly combines aforementioned underground styles, and further twists and distorts them achieving a laidback yet suspenseful lo-fi feel. "On Your Way Back Bring Some Ice" is such a sick track and one of my personal highlights here, like an evil soundtrack to Predator's hunting season. I fear that my top 10 of 2022 will be made of entirely of John's releases this year. Unstoppable force, don't sleep.
"On The Bed Confused" is out on Paso Inferior Tapes, and can be purchased here. Stream below.

Sniper Bait - The Nature Of Camouflage As A Perceptual Phenomenon
Fresh off the press, Sniper Bait is the latest project from John Katsav (CRAVE / Lieu Noir) that debuted on Paso Inferior Tapes with "The Nature Of Camouflage As A Perceptual Phenomenon". Inspired by "Thomas Koner's drones, Akira Yamaoka, and 90's old school industrial tapes", the album is a riveting sonic assault built on bone crushing drones, intensely expanding walls of noise and serrated manipulations of tape loops. Beautifully dark experience, lets you immerse in this world from the start and won't let go until the last piano key drowns in silence.
The album is available on Paso Inferior bandcamp for $9. Worth every penny. Stream it below.

CRAVE - PIT Podcast N°4
An hour of mindfuckery, noise and industrial experimentation from CRAVE for Paso Inferior Tapes podcast. This shit would be a book-definition of evil in the satanic-panic days. I recently spoke to CRAVE and he shared some exciting news - there's a vinyl record in the pipeline called "Inner War Delirium", which is scheduled for the second half of the year. Before that we should also get 2 new EPs and a side-project called Sniper Bait. Good times ahead.

Lieu Noir - Absent Gods & Dead Immortals
Long-awaited new album "Absent Gods & Dead Immortals" from Lieu Noir just dropped on Paso Inferior Tapes bandcamp. There are currently three tracks available for stream, that suggest a sonic coctail of dreampunk ambience, lo-tempo beats and distorted black metal vocals. "Opium Stash" sounds like a recording of Orcs plotting a raid, sick. A must buy for the next bandcamp day.
Cop the album here, and stream it below.

CRAVE - Death Blow
I swear this guy doesn't sleep, another incredible mini-album from CRAVE just dropped today. Six tracks of genre-bending and genre-blending sinister beats, that offer excursion into John's ever-evolving musical taste and creative mind. From cinematic synth through noise-trap and industrial to dark ambient and drone, CRAVE shapeshifts from one track to another, while skillfully maintaining cohesiveness and keeping the listener immersed in this hellish sonic world. I feel like I barely savoured his previous album from last month, but I'm not complaining here, "Death Blow" does not disappoint. Play it loud.
As always, this project dropped on Paso Inferior Tapes, there's no word whether it will see a physical release, but I'll keep you in the loop. You can cop the digital copy here, and stream it in full below. Also, if you liked "Paradise Hotel", there are now some tapes to buy, super limited and going fast. Head over here to get one.

CRAVE - Paradise Hotel
Surprise new album from CRAVE on Paso Inferior Tapes. Six tracks of otherworldly drones, static hiss and harsh trap underpinned by desolate bass structures and visceral synths. Narrated by heavily processed vocals, John managed to create here an unauthorised soundtrack to the grittiest and most dangerous alleyways of the dystopian Los Angeles from Blade Runner. Think of The Body's "I Shall Die Here" collab with Haxan Cloak but filtered through Vangelis retro-futurist atmospheres. Sci-fi snuff album for all the sewage mutants, techno punks and replicant outcasts. Incredible.

CRAVE - Stabbed In The Jaw And Left Alive
CRAVE is back with a new album on freshly minted Paso Inferior Tapes. His work has always been very cinematic, both in terms of visual references, storytelling and sample use, and it's no different here - the mood shifts throughout "Stabbed In The Jaw And Left Alive" keeping the listener on the edge all the time. It is an industrial record at its core, with experimental rap, harsh noise and power electronics influences ingeniously intertwined into an eerie and gripping project. The titular track even ventures into a hardcore/grimy rave territory, while "Betrayal" sounds like it could be pulled from a Texas Chain Saw Massacre-themed dungeon synth album. The result is seven tracks of uncompromising gritty electronics, an essential listen for anyone willing to hear the best in the current French underground.
Buy the album here, and stream it below. Also, make sure to follow CRAVE's obscure bootleg brand Paso Inferior on Instagram.
