V.A. - All Blurred Out Vol. 3

This compilation came out end of October last year, but I've been taking my sweet time to post it here - and it definitely deserves a spot on this blog. All Blurred Out Records comes through once again with volume three in their series. Featuring the usual line-up of their in-house misfits (STRFLL, Pharmacist, dancing in slow motion, COOK, CHARLATAN) as well as some new faces (Heygate, Humanfobia, DesireLust, xv10, ehwaz, Filmy Ghost and 111111?), the 15-track collection is packing the punch with the collective's take on post-witch house music that branches out more and more into some new territories, from dark ambient, drone to dungeon synth and industrial. Essential stuff that's brilliantly curated. Easily one of my fav labels out there right now.

Candle Ea†er - Love​▼​Less [Demo]

Two archival recordings from Candle Eater, who debuted back in 2013 on Phantasma Disques with his album "Nocturne". "Love▼Less" are supposedly from 2010 and are only now 'officially' released. Desolate droning weird new canada and dark ambient on "Love", and distant tribal drumming on "Less" - both quite different but go really well together. I like the cover art for it too. DJ Lostboi - Music For Landings

Malibu returns with her Lostboi project on "Music For Landings" EP, which dropped a couple of days ago. Four ambient soundscapes that flip vocal samples making them practically unrecognisable - the effect is really sweet, sitting somewhere between beatless DeepChord and Echospace collabs, Julianna Barwick at the most minimal, and, well, classic Malibu. Mellow ambience and chillout.

"Shadowboxing" is the first single from Lost Under Heaven's forthcoming album "Something is Announced by your Life!". I'm quite liking that folky/almost-americana spin there. Vibing.

Hello police? SALEM called, want their beats back. But seriously this 2 track single from DISM is really dope, first track is clearly inspired by the godparents of WH, while "Gasoline" slows the tempo down and feels like a walk in a haze a 3 am half drunk, where dream and reality merge into one another. The Voice From The Tower - Dark Age Of Melancholy, Or A Tragedy In Nine Movements

Finding The Midnight Ensemble made me go down the rabbit hole filled with countless aliases and side projects, the man is busy as hell. The Voice From The Tower is his dark/dungeon ambient project, focusing on building droning and desolate soundscapes that make you feel like the winter never left. Really good stuff, buy it here.

The Midnight Ensemble - Forever Haunt Me​.​.​.

Black as moonless night, new dark jazz single from The Midnight Ensemble (also known as Wampyric Solitude, among a lot of other things). Very moody, slow burning and haunting, reminds me a bit of that excellent tribute to Nosferatu from Arthur King. Get it here.

7700 feat. Yottai - Anabiosis // video

Really amazing post-dubstep/synth/witchhouse single from 7700, who is a total enigma to be honest as online searches bring me nothing. The track is lifted from their new album "Wraith" which can only be found on Spotify. It also features vocals from Estonian musician Yottai. 100% banger with a dystopian vibe.

Malibu - Atlantic Diva (Cotton Mouth Edit)

Swedish producer Cotton Mouth flipped Malibu's "Atlantic Diva" which came out as part of the " Palaces Of Pity" EP a few months back. His edit is a wonderful, deep techno with a layer for grainy texture slapped on top - fantastic stuff. Stream here.

Sofia Reta - Pleuvoir / Interdit

"Pleuvoir / Interdit" is the latest record from Sofia Reta. The album has been out since December last year on various streaming services, but only now it has been addded in an expanded version to Bandcamp with a tagline "[file 02 ext.]". Returning to the old name after donning Hilde for a few years is one surprise - the second one is using a rap sample in the very first track, something that Xavier haven't done before but shows how well such a collab could work. The whole record is quite experimental, bearing in mind Hilde's previous LPs, which is really refreshing to experience. I love this direction.

Clams Casino - Instrumental Relics

Right, so "Instrumental Relics" mixtape came out in 2020, collecting some of the most famous beats from Clams. But February 2023 brings us vinyl version of this incredible tape, courtesy of Vinyl Digital. The album will be released on a limited edition blue splattered vinyl as well as a regular run on black wax. The former has already sold out, I'm quite sure the latter won't last long either. Sad Madona - Dramatic Dance

Sad Madona is an alias of French producer and musician Rémi Lauvergne, who's been building a neat following on his SC and Bandcamp channels for the past two years. Oráculo Records made an amazing decision to compile his tracks into a mini-album, that's available for pre-order now. Gothic coldwave and romantic darkwave with this unique French touch - 100% recommended.

SØLVE - The Dark & The Wicked

"The Dark & The Wicked" is SØLVE's latest EP, born from the place of reflection. Starting from the droney, ominous sound design of "Watching", slowly progressing with grainy dark ambient soundscapes that form "Waiting", to culminate with the vocal, industrial-leaning track "Everywhere" - the EP is fantastic. There are echos in those tracks of contemporary composers like Ben Frost or Lorn, but ultimately it's all SØLVE at its core. Great stuff.

Goth darlings Male Tears are back with a brand new video single "I Expire". It promotes the upcoming album "Krypt" which will see the light of the day on April 28 via AVANT! Records. Nights Templar - Year One

Nights Templar have released his first vinyl record, "Year One" collecting the first six singles from Bandcamp, remixed and remastered. The minimal wave/coldwave album/compilation is limited to 100 copies on vinyl which is numbered and housed in unique sleeves.
