Human Hollow - Eraser

"Eraser" is Human Hollow's new horror-themed EP that came out just a few days ago. I blogged about the singles "Playind Dead" and "Delgado" a while back, so it's great to get the full set all in one place. The dark, season-appropriate themes fit the music - HH's sound is more gothic and EBM-flavoured, which matches the lyrics and delivery. The opening song "Puppy Love" should be a total jam for all fellow 80s slasher fans!

Human Hollow - Delgado

Austin and Lucia are back, this time in their darkest incarnation so far. "Delgado" is a radical industrial/EBM single that manages to bring something fresh to the table without losing their identity. Love this! The 3-track single also includes an instrumental, and an experimental remix from Austin's side project Nomenclature.

Human Hollow - Playing Dead

My favourite Portland-based band Human Hollow are back with a new single! Like many of their previous tracks, "Playing Dead" was created during one of their wholesome against the clock sessions, which you can watch here. It's a raw and hard-hitting EBM-fuelled banger - I'm totally loving the instrumentation skills here, as well as the vocal effects. Human Hollow - Project Apathy

Human Hollow recently dropped a new single, delivering a barrage of cold industrial beats that provide a stark landscape for Luna's vocals and Austin's adlibs. With its minimal structure, "Project Apathy" comes full circle, echoing the raw energy of their debut track "Medic". Buy and stream here.

Human Hollow has released a stripped-down (aka lullaby) version of their amazing single "Keep The TV On". While it doesn't beat the original, it remains an interesting and rather far-out sonic experience nonetheless. Get it here.

Human Hollow - Static

I've been eagerly anticipating Human Hollow's debut EP "Static" ever since discovering the dark synth-pop duo out in the wild a few months ago. In addition to the three already-released singles (covered on the pages of this blog), the EP includes two new tracks, "Another Nightmare" and "Old Haunts", which perfectly complement its themes of reclaiming space, identity, and relationships. I love the fact that "Static" feels like a trully collaborative effort, with both Austin and Luna sharing vocal and production duties. An amazing, future-facing debut that should appeal to fans of ethereal synth-pop and modern darkwave.

Human Hollow - Dark Space (Next To Me)

One of my fav new bands is back with yet another amazing single. Portland's Human Hollow cooked "Dark Space (Next To Me)" during their incredible "Against the Clock" video series in just over 20 minutes - and delivered a hauntingly capturing dream pop/darkwave anthem that features their back and forth vocals. Seriously keep an eye on those two, they get better and better with each new song. Their EP should be out soon as far as I know. Can't wait! You can buy "Dark Space (Next To Me)" here.

Human Hollow - Keep The TV On

Latest single "Keep The TV On" from the Portland-based duo Human Hollow is such a treat. It gives me 2000s indie pop-punk vibe but the sleezy kitsch that defined that era is replaced with darker, shoegazing tone. 100% banger that I would love to hear in a club! I don't even own a TV, but want to sing along (and speaking of, Austin leads on vocals this time). Get the single here.

Human Hollow - Medic

There's something special in Oregon's waters because the state has consistently produced a number of amazing synth and darkwave bands over the last two decades. Check out this compilation for starters. Human Hollow is a new dark electropop act on Portland's scene, composed of Austin McKee (Nomenclature) and Lucia Luna (We Are Like The Spider/Unicorn Domination). Inspirations behing the project: David Lynch, Boy Harsher and TR/ST, should give you some idea of what to expect from their debut single "Medic", but watching how this track was made (in just over 20 minutes!) made me appreciate this catchy, postpunk-tinted synth-pop jam even more.
