Joseph Randolph's "Liftoff" is a neo-medieval downtempo EP that came out a few weeks ago. The leftfield e-trap-m beat on the titular track gets you going, before delicate guitar strumming paired with glitchy ambient takes the foot off the gas on track two. The closing composition "Genius & Irrelevance" delivers some of that A24 cinematic eeriness with its beautiful strings collage.

Joe's "Residual Charge" single came out over the Summer, but somehow I failed to blog about it. Catching up now, and it's worth it. The track is an eclectic mash-up of smokey hip-jazz piano + bass combo and IDM-like glitchtronica. This makes me think of Hydeout's Jemapur mixed with Afta-1 for some reason. Unique stuff.
