Moon 17 - TX_1320

I've been waiting for Moon 17's debut for ages - ever since Spike Hellis signed them to their label Over-Pop. The album, entitled "TX_1320", finally dropped today, and is available in digital and tape formats, with a vinyl release due in July. The husband-and-wife duo, Zack Hames and Samantha Conrad, deliver eight electronic body music tracks that ebb and flow into a modern industrial sound, supported by rad drum machines, shouty vocals, and occasional gnarly guitar riffs. It's raw, punchy and energetic - making me hope Moon 17 will visit the UK soon, because I'd love to test those songs live! I'm hooked, the intro alone is a small masterpiece.

Moon 17 - Mirror Side

Kicking the new year off with the latest single from one of my fav new acts on the industrial EBM scene. Kansas City's own Moon 17 dropped this in October but it somehow slipped through my attention's cracks. Dope, aggressive track. Fans of Spike Hellis will love this. Download here.

Spike Hellis - Altitude Sickness

This one has been cooking for a while now (I've reported on the Pressure and Normal Bias remixes back in March), so I'm stoked to finally be able to hear the end product. "Altitude Sickness" collects eight remixes of tracks from the self-titled album, futher expanding the Spike Hellis' EBM universe. Club Music Mental is such a simple expansion of the original yet works on so many levels. Moon 17 is another brilliant edit.

Buy the album here, and stream all the remixes below.

Moon 17 - Jellyfish

Moon 17 is an industrial / EBM project from Kansas City, consisting of husband and wife Zack Hames and Samantha Conrad. Initially a solo project of Zack, it expanded into a duo earlier this year. Their first official single "Jellyfish" dropped last month, and is championed by Spike Hellis (who also signed M17 to their Over-Pop label) - no surprise why - it's a rather incredible and catchy as hell song. Download it here, and watch their live performance here.
