A Large Sheet Of Muscle - A Painting Of My Daughter

Louis Johnstone is truly a bard of the post-internet era. This one-hour long album was composed for his latest NTS Radio appearance, and sonically it covers all the bases from Lou's musical past - from outsider art/digital folk hero to Dem Hunger warped beat abstractions to musique concrete and spoken word. Trip like no other.

A Large Sheet Of Muscle - Possession Centre

"Possession Centre" is the new album from Louis Johnstone, released under the guise of A Large Sheet Of Muscle. This phone-made abstract record is a collection of 14 musique concrète snippets, twisted monologues and dadaist ambient experimentations that should defy your expectations (or totally confirm them - if you know Lou's previous work). Wicked stuff.

A Large Sheet Of Muscle - Eternal Swing

Abstract aural musings from the experimental guru Louis Johnstone. "Eternal Swing" consists of 17 occurences of musique iphonète recorded for the working class and future, post-internet cabinet of curiosities' explorers. Weirdos unite. Free download, but support this good soul.

A Large Sheet Of Muscle - Dracula Completo

The infamous all-caps noise poet Louis Johnstone aka Wanda Group aka Dem Hunger developed yet another new alias for his twisted sound sculpting. Under the guise A Large Sheet Of Muscle he released "Dracula Completo" in October on vinyl and tape, with help from The Trilogy Tapes. Mutant electronics, musique concrète, anti-folk singing, screwed samples and more are squeezed on this "box of chocolates"-type of release. I've actually quite enjoyed this record, it's more melodic in comparison to some of his more recent albums, and has this Dem Hunger-y lo-fi feel embedded too. Worth giving this one a go.

Last records and tapes are available here, hurry before they're gone for good. Otherwise, you can stream and download the LP here, and stream it all below.
