"Gub 9" is a new single lifted from the upcoming, self-titled album from the Chicago-based duo Gub. Hiding behind the name are Beau Wanzer and Champagne Mirrors, both practicioners of experimental, industrial-leaning soundscapes. "Gub 9" is an eerie, minimal beat that gives off alien-ish vibes, whetting my appetite for the full LP. Oooof, Beau Wanzer is back, after that dope split with Hieroglyphic Being on Natural Sciences a couple of months ago. "Warm Waterboarding", which you can check out above, is a cut from his upcoming 12" EP to be released in January 2023 via Swedish iDEAL Recordings. Rad minimal electronics.
60th release from Natural Sciences comes from two Chicago underground figureheads - Beau Wanzer and Hieroglyphic Being. While Beau delivers a minimal/industrial beat-hybrid with some looped bars thrown on top, HB provides a 14-minute long set of mutant, alien IDM drum patterns. Sick release with one of the best titles I've seen in a while.

Rad new/old joint from Beau Wanzer, lifted from the compilation "Unrealistic Electronics Vol. 1" released a few days ago via freshly minted Spanish label Unrealistic Expectations. The tapes unfortunately sold out a while ago, so try your luck with Discogs, but in the meantime enjoy this gem above. Label's bio says Beau made it 10 years ago, it holds up sooo well.

Two hours and fourty minutes of droning synths, ambient psychedelia and obscure oddities from Beau Wanzer on this DJ mix for Edition Erich Schmid series. It's actually an except from an event at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago that took place in March this year, where Beau played alongside Fennesz and Blue Lick. Ace.
