For Lunar Dust - Nothing Lasts Forever

Russian musician For Lunar Dust debuts on Vertigo Cult with the excellent EP "Nothing Lasts Forever". One could make the case that musically it inhabits the same club space as Edith Underground's "Heaven's Night", but is located on a different floor. The opening track "Temporary Heaven" lures you into a place both wonderful and strange with its sleepy noise-ambient soundscape, before the titular song's pulsing beats kick in. "Nothing Really Ends" is a radical acid techno joint that will wake up anyone getting too comfortable - definitely a highlight of the EP. The final two tracks serve as a textured ambient comedowns - ethereal echoes of blissful future ahead. Amazing release!

Thirteen years later, For Lunar Dust takes it to the next level, inviting the listener to zone out into his liminal world centerd around the quote - now stretched it into an incredible ambient piece called "I Love To Fly". I'm floored, so good.

His works spans multiple genres and style, and his latest offering "Mixtape" is a perfect proof of his eclectic approach to songwriting. Lo-fi to the core, the tape is filled with 90s rave elements filtered through grime and grit of underground hip-hop approaches, and then deconstructed all over again. Radical stuff! Recommended.
