Catching up on Sad Madona's last year's output - this two-track single recorded in collaboration with an individual called LovelyEddie sits somewhere between synthwave with extra dark glasses and shoegazing coldwave. While the "Demo" version is the more polished of the two, it's the extra lo-fi "(oct.2000)" edit that does something special for me. It has this underground, gritty 80s vibe many records had behind the Iron Curtain. Jam.

"Amor Hardcore" is Sad Madona's compilation from last year, released on vinyl and CD by French label Manic Depression Records. The record is a collection of singles released between 2023 and 2025, and additionally includes two previously unreleased tracks. Cult bangers "Witch Coast" and "Crimes", despite being released on the 2023 mini-album "Dramatic Dance", are also included here - and I can't fault them, the former in particular is an absolute jam. The compilation displays a huge spectrum of sub-genres, showcasing Sad Madona's range and eclectic taste - from early-TRST era post-witch heaters, to lo-fi post-punk and coldwave gems, to sadcore ballads. An incredible artist and a great release.

Franco-German collaboration between Sad Madona and Flawless Issues is a unique project that can't shake off the witch house label - in the best sense possible. The thumping beats, punchy synths, dark atmosphere looming in the background, and the iconic keys all make this track a brilliant listen that will appeal to witchy dancefloor fans. Stellar single, and free to download too! Check here.

Incredible witchhouse-inspired dark electro single/demo from my recent discovery Sad Madona. I'm totally in love with this guy's productions, and am really hyped for what the future will bring for him. Download it for free here.
Sad Madona is an alias of French producer and musician Rémi Lauvergne, who's been building a neat following on his SC and Bandcamp channels for the past two years. Oráculo Records made an amazing decision to compile his tracks into a mini-album, that's available for pre-order now. Gothic coldwave and romantic darkwave with this unique French touch - 100% recommended.
