Between 2012 and 2016, one of my favourite blogs Stadiums & Shrines used to run an amazing series of singles entitled Dreams, which culminated with the release of a compilation "S&S presents: Dreams". The series - as well as the compilation - was a beautiful ode to fleeting moments, painted with strokes of ambient, indie folk, ethereal downtempo and lush, shoegazing pop music. I'm writing all this, because a few days ago I got an email from Old Amica, a two-man band from Sweden consisting of Johan Kisro and Linus Johansson, who wanted to share with me "Tuvåkra", a new video single promoting their upcoming album "Fyr". Basking in a dreamy Nordic sunlight, translated here with delicate guitar strumming and melodic piano keys, "Tuvåkra" is a warm and atmospheric post-rock meets indie electronica nugget that will appeal to the fans of Sigur Rós, ambient-leaning works of the Sincerely Yours label, and the aforementioned Dream series. "Fyr" will be released on October 14th via Whitelabrecs.
