Absolutely haunting release from Japanese visual artist and producer Jun Shimada. Minimal, ritual techno meets industrial noise. Great double-single/EP, and one to follow! Check it out here.

DN.Aideath - Snake Pit
I discovered the Indonesian musician DN.Aideath a few days ago on Bandcamp while browsing the death industrial tag, and his cover artworks were the element that drew my attention in the first place. "Snake Pit" is his latest album, released by the German powerhouse Tesco Org. Raw power electronics meet industrial minimalism.
You can buy the (pricey) CDs here, and stream the album below.

Morgue File - Deathbed Phenomena
Morgue File is the alias of Daniel Cornejo from California, who has a number of other projects, but it's this one that caught my ear. Death ambient and cold, morgue-themed noise transmissions form the epicentre of this album, delivering a whiff of deathly chill to your speakers.
Sadly, the tapes are sold out, but you can peep the digital version here.

Exome - Burning State
"Burning State" is a skullcrushing new release from Exome, offering six tracks of pure, unrelenting power electronics and noise. Put out by Italian label Ophism, the record feels like a barrage of sonic warfare. It is an album that's not just abrasive but also confrontational, like being thrown into the middle of a battlefield and forced to relive the trauma. Radical stuff, and the cover art is equally sick.

Filmy Ghost - Golden Age Of Netlabels

Mutant Zones mix series returns with a tribute mixtape from Humanfobia's founder, producer, visual artist and curator Sabila Orbe, aka Filmy Ghost. The Chilean underground powerhouse has prepared a mixtape dedicated to a unique era in Internet history - a time when netlabels reigned over the online landscape and challenged ideas of collaboration, copyright and ownership. "Golden Age of Netlabels" is a 25-minute journey, told through songs from artists who were part of that movement between 2006 and 2010. Download and stream the mix here.

Jang Hun - A Girl Under The Streetlight
Jang Hun returns with his latest album "A Girl Under the Streetlight", a lush ambient work crafted over the past five years from layered guitar textures, tape loops, synths, and samples. Glimpses of drone, noise, and deconstructed shoegaze shine through nine ethereal soundscapes that convey a sense of longing and hope.

Morgve - Feast
Morgve's EP "Feast" is an ultimate digestif released after their previous album "Symphony For Those In Pain". Both dropped in 2024 and they complement each other perfectly. Like its predecessor, "Feast" is a wide-ranging collection of tracks that span multiple styles, showcasing the band's flexibility and confidence in taking on any genre. Nadia is unstoppable on vocals, equally comfortable rapping or singing, and she owns every beat. Music-wise, I must say I'm most drawn to the big room/techno singles, with the opening "Cut The Throat" being my favourite.

Death's Cold Embrace - The Complete And Utter Destruction Of Everything
The latest single from Death's Cold Embrace may be his best yet. "The Complete and Utter Destruction of Everything" lives up to its title - it's a gloomy, gothic ballad that had me bobbing my head from the start, reminiscent of the early days of King Dude. An EP is coming soon! Grab the track here.
STRFLL - Insanity Era Pt. III - I Wish I Could Go Back To How It Used To Be
STRFLL decided to release the third volume in the "Insanity Era" series, chronicling the recording process of their magnum opus "In Memoriam". It showcases all the early demo versions along with a handful of new and untitled tracks - a phenomenal view into the artist's initial drafts and sketches that further prove how much they grew as a producer.

J. Deasy / Primitive Gauze - Earth Fall
Irish composers Jonathan Deasy and Alan Doyle join forces for this magnificent, drone-heavy split tape "Earth Fall" on Hibernian Leather. J. Deasy's "The View From My Window" makes me feel as if I'm aboard a spaceship, slowly drifting on the edges of our galaxy, gazing into the cosmic void occasionally pierced by floating space debris. Primitive Gauze's side is more minimal, darker, and almost meditative in its slow, gradual progression, leading towards the dawn of something bleaker and more ominous. Amazing work.

Arthur King - Ned's Mystery Machine Vol. 1
"Ned's Mystery Machine Vol. 1" was recorded (as usual) fully improvised on August 23, 2024, during Ned's Mystery Machine radio show, which is broadcast on KXLU (88.9 FM) from Los Angeles. With the AK collective reduced to Chris Avitabile and Peter Walker, the album offers an intimate 33-minute experience that transcends leftfield ambient, delicate drones, and new-age mysticism - potentially taking you, the listener, on a mindful, cosmic voyage around the galaxy, if you dare to put on your headphones and close your eyes. Fantastic effort, as always from this crew. Don't miss out, and grab it from AKP Recordings here.

Votives - Possessor
Votives, the newly formed collaborative project of Hyetal and Antoni Maiovvi, announce their upcoming EP with the single "Possessor". It's a rad fusion of their signatures, merging brooding post-dubstep atmospheres with pulsing EBM-tech rhythms. Future classic. The EP will be released in CD format on Amsterdam-based label Insult To Injury Records.

Twin Galaxxies - Quantum Garden
Four years after his psych-synth epic "Imminent Reversal", Alex Myers returns to Pure Life with a new release, "Quantum Garden". The electro-wizard on the cover may hint at a dungeon synth record, but Twin Galaxxies instead takes a turn toward the experimental, and less psychedelic this time, focusing more on cinematic drones and cosmic soundscapes. The album feels more mature, though some of the playful elements that gave its predecessor the adventurous edge are, sadly, absent.

Elijah Jamal Asani - ,,, As Long As I Long To Memorise Your Sky ,,,
I posted about this album's single a few months back, and then sort of forgot about its premiere. Although I've lately been covering mostly the darker edges of electronic music, sometimes a glimmer of light is needed to put everything into perspective - and EJA's "As Long..." LP hits all the right spots. Conceived during his artist residency at the Grand Canyon, following a revelation-like encounter with the park's nature, Elijah translated and documented his impressions into a blissful dialogue between the whispers of flora, the calls of fauna, and the composer himself. The final result amounts to 38 minutes of lush ambient soundscapes and comfortingly familiar field recordings that feel meditative, inspiring, and consoling.
You can purchase the vinyl here, and stream the whole record down below.

РэрϟЎ - Blood Ritual
РэрϟЎ's first EP "Blood Ritual" is Vertigo Cult's most hard-hitting release to date, unleashing swarms of inferno kicks fused to industrial exoskeletons. ▲NGST was the first producer to embrace the unholy fusion of hardcore and witch house back in 2010, but Pepsy takes it further with a more aggressive, minimalist approach to beat-making, laced with elements of techno and ambient. Grab a canister of gasoline, trace a pentagram on the floor, set it ablaze, and dance 'til dawn.

Syntropy Archeology - The Shipwreck Of Jophar Vorin
Here's an interesting concept album inspired by a 19th-century German story about one Jophar Vorin (read about his lore here). Syntropy Archeology, a composer and musician from Portland, recorded "The Shipwreck of Jophar Vorin" with the aim of reimagining the feeling of nostalgia for a world that never existed, through music. Dark ambient tones and mechanical drones effortlessly flow throughout the record, often enhanced by noisy textures and quirky field recordings. "Astar: A Fungal History" is a standout track - a mesmerizing suite that begins with a wall of noise, gradually morphing into a post-dystopian fallout soundscape that heralds the arrival of life blooming from ruin.

Tetsüo ii - Summoning Sickness
Tetsüo ii are back again with the "Summoning Sickness" EP, following their incredible June release, "Phase IV". This one starts with glimmers of hope in "Praise the Sun" before diving into darker territories that span the vast landscapes between ambient and drone. These guys can't miss.

The Boreen - Collected Works
Irish label Hibernian Leather presents this haunting release by The Boreen, an alias used by Stuart Geelon for his desolation synth productions (he also records as Luxury Mollusc). Nineteen tracks of grainy, dark ambient nightmares that oscillate between noise-powered drone music and haunted electroacoustic soundscapes. Unofficial score for trekking in the woods of Burkittsville, Maryland.

Bitter Course - Emulsion
The new album from Bitter Course "Emulsion" offers alien-like ambient transmissions that follow in the footsteps of his March release "Fragments Of Paradise", while turning up the glitch modifications tenfold. "Gift", in the middle, offers a breather between the jittery tonal shifts with it's calming guitar strumming. If Pokemon was a survival horror game, this would be the soundtrack to its psychic-focused chapters.
Get the album in digital format here. There's a CD version available directly from BC at his live shows. Stream below.

White Columns - Lessen
Rhythmic noise and mutated radio signals clash against the backdrop of anti-ambient soundscapes on White Columns album "Lessen". "Dramatic Moments" is peak music for something bad is about to happen. The following "Shaking In The Light" is even better, it preserves the tension, but with the vocals, the whole songs sounds like a dystopian lo-fi art-punk anthem. Fucking radical.
