In this in-depth interview, we go back to his beginnings, explore both regional and esoteric influences behind the project, and chat about playing live in 2025. Monomorte - The Wiccan (Alt Versions)

Blink-and-you-miss-it release from Monomorte, available only until January 1st, 2024. Four tracks that form "The Wiccan (Alt Versions)" were sourced from the recording sessions for Monomorte's incredible "The Wiccan". This new release gives us a glimpse into the process of the artist as well as shares some unused tracks from that period.

Monomorte - We Are Desire

"We Are Desire" is the final single from the upcoming Monomorte album "Sink/Swim" due anytime now. Featuring vocals from Neon Impossible, the track is leaning towards electronic industrial sound, that's destined for the clubs. Grab the song here.

Monomorte - Liber Morte

Monomorte delivers an industrialized EBM banger, that will make you move. "Liber Morte" is the first single promoting his upcoming album "Sink/Swim" that should see the light of the day later on this year. You can buy the track here.

Probably the most pop-friendly single from Monomore right here? Wavey soundscapes and chill beats lead the track, but I quite like the guitar lingering somewhere around 1:30 mark. Free download, help yourself.

Monomorte - Prism Noir

Two awesome cuts from Monomorte just dropped on bandcamp, both free to download. "The Temple of Mithras" leans more towards dark ambient soundscapes mixed with ominous synths and far-away beats, while "Dead Air" slowy evolves into a chill trip-house jam. Ace.

Monomorte - Open The Portal

New track from Monomorte, once again featuring vocals by Moi Saint, following their collab on "The River". "Open The Portal" is a slowly unravelling synth journey with a hellish undertone. Absolutely love how Monomorte has progressed over the years in terms of his arrangements and composition, and I'm looking forward to his next album. Full support. You can buy the track here.

Monomorte - The River feat. Moi Saint

Monomorte is back with a new single "The River", featuring Moi Saint on vocals. It's a stripped slab of trip-hop-infused bass music that sounds like it just crawled out of forgotten tomb in a jungle. It can be copped from his bandcamp page here.

Monomorte - Reptile

Monomorte is back with a remix of Nine Inch Nails' "Reptile", cleverly flipping elements of the original track into a witchy industrial/trap blend. This is not the first time he had a go at Reznor's work, in 2013 Monomorte also remixed How To Destroy Angels single "Strings And Attractors" (unfortunately he removed it from Bandcamp a while ago, but here's a download link - it's seriously great, so don't sleep).

MONOMORTE - Principia Monomorte 2013​-​2021

MONOMORTE just re-issued last year's mixtape "Principia Monomorte" that collects his tracks from 2013 to 2021. Split into two sides, 13 tracks in total, it's a great introduction to his early catalogue as well as a decent chronicle of his progress.

MONOMORTE - Skyclad

MONOMORTE has expanded his album "The Wiccan" with not one, but two bonus cuts since it dropped on Halloween. In November we got the eerie and atmospheric "The Mirror", and today MONOMORTE uploaded "Skyclad" - a sluggish synthwave track with submerged bassline. This is still one of my favourtie dark electronic albums of 2021, so make sure to check out my review here and buy the album here.

MONOMORTE - The Wiccan

MONOMORTE is a Liverpool-based dark electronic musician Danny Ryder, who's been steadily releasing quality EPs and singles since 2013 via his bandcamp page. Even though he's been active on the witch-house scene for almost a decade now, his new project "The Wiccan" is de facto his longplay debut. Inspired by Gerald Gardner, who popularised the wiccan religion, the album deconstructs vocal samples and field recordings from his coven, and mixes them with MONOMORTE's signature style that glides smoothly between pre-trap era witch-house, tribal bass music championed by Shackleton and future garage of Clubroot. On "The Wiccan" he manages to craft a cohesive occult story, told with an eclectic sound that is both sublime and menacing, eerily familiar and comfortably distant, merging modern horror sound design with ghosts of dubstep past. The album is a natural continuation of MONOMORTE's artistic journey but also a brilliant starting point for anyone who's not familiar with his previous work.

Mater Suspiria Vision's Kosmische Musik + remixes

"Kosmische Musik" is a new soundtrack from Mater Suspiria Vision, scoring Cosmotropia de Xam's latest movie feature "The House That Eats The Rabbit". Released last month, it takes the listener on a trippy journey through vast and bleak sonic wastelands of ghostly synths, selectively scattered with guest vocals and shrouded with droning serenity. The album sits somewhere between Emeralds' analog kosmik sound and more desolate works of Drug Machine on "Amnesia" (the latter being one of many side-projects of Cosmotropia de Xam). With "Kosmische Musik" MSV crafted a captivating and transcendental listening experience, working equally well both on and off screen, that can be recommended to any lovers of dystopian electronic music.

Alongside the main album, Mater Suspiria Vision has also just dropped a compilation "Acid in the Rabbit Hole", with a great array of edits and remixes of the opening track "Säure im Kaninchenbau". Boasting an amazing and diverse line-up, including Monomorte, Morgve, Voodoo Crystals and Churchterror among many others, the album is a brilliant addition to "Kosmische Musik", interpreting it through rave, techno, post-industrial and old school witchhouse lenses.
