"Labirynth" is the latest album from Hooker Vision co-founder Grant Evans, focusing on the tape manipulation process that resulted in two 15-minute pieces of sonic forms that sit somewhere between musique concrète, drone and noise. It's like walking into an abandoned house at the end of the road, only to find out the gramophone on with a skipping needle playing the remains of a forgotten record. Quite captivating.

Âmes Solitaires is a goth-leaning darkwave/post-punk duo, consisting of Leeds-based Oliver Tordoff (responsible for music) and Bram Droulers out of London who's a singer and lyricist. Their debut self-titled demo tape came out a few days ago, and sounds like something transported from the 80s.

Glitch transmissions and techno fragments from a project that may or may not be related to Francesco de Gallo aka Hobo Cubes. Released on his label No Exp, "Utilit" is a minimal record at its core, but this concept doesn't take away from it's ability to deliver some club-friendly moments. Interesting stuff, especially the closing "Inizer".

I'm quite amazed that Chino is back to making music again. After a stream of Soundcloud singles released over the course of last few weeks, he published yesterday on his Bandcamp this eight track album. "French Extremism" feels like a spiritual sister to "Paradiso", but less deconstruced and more dancefloor and car soundsystem-ready (despite being politically-charged). "FR4" is a massive hit.

Forest Swords returns with four remixes of his recent single "Butterfly Effect" that features vocals of Neneh Cherry. We get ambient-infused Burialesque 2-stepper, slightly dubby trip-hop mellowness, grainy ambient composition and a "clubstep" remix that takes me a decade back to the dubstepforum days. Pretty, pretty awesome stuff.

From remixes (Salem and Lana DR), to original tracks, this album delivers non-stop hits b2b destined for Volvo V70 cruising. Classic witch house meets the new school approach, add to that trance-hop influences a'la AraabMuzik / Dipset Trance Party, some seriously addictive samples, plus two rap featurings from fellow crewmates Zouls and Chayn Soth, and we get one of the best releases of the year. Seriously recommended!

I honestly don't know what's happening with Male Tears, since their last album "Krypt" their vocals are so poorly mixed with the track, they sort of spoil the fun of the instrumental. "In This House" is their latest single, very The Cure-ish vibe, and sweet composition - but the vocals are not sitting with me well and they make Edward sound offbeat. Check the track anyway, and support them here by buying it.
LeeAnn Peppers is an artist and musician based in Athens, GA, who just debuted with a tape on the ever-amazing Hooker Vision. "Explorations Into Unknown Territory" is a voyage into shattered electronica, fragmented ambient, soothing drones and semi-familiar field recordings. Interesting introspective stuff.

Mutant new beat deliciousness from Curses, that feels like it crawled out from his "Incarnadine" outtakes folder. Restricted returns with a new four track EP ready for the Bandcamp day. Shifting his sound away from his signature synthwave/darkwave style, "Burning Through the Days" tends to lean more towards an uncharted dungeon synthwave territory, giving those songs a darker, creepier and more cinematic edge. Slow burning tones hover over the desolate ambient soundscapes, and are often enriched with retro-futuristic synths and droning guitar sounds.

"Inheritance" is the debut album from Palestinian-American composer and producer Omar Ahmad. I shared his video single a while ago, and today I finally had a proper session with the whole longplay, which saw the light of the day in tape and digital format a month ago thanks to the ever amazing AKP Recordings. And what a stunning record it is. Omar elegantly threads together a warm collage of downtempo grooves, organic trip-hop beats, subtle glitchtronica and ambient atmospheres, taking his listener on an exploratory journey from Brooklyn to the Middle East. "Cendre" from the Fennesz Sakamoto duo as well as DJ Muqata'a's works are quoted by the press release as some of Omar's auditory spirit animals, but I can also recognise some nods to the Hydeout Productions catalogue too - Emancipator and Jemapur in particular come to mind while listening to the album. Overall, a beautiful experience form start to finish.
