Drug Machine is one of countless side projects from Cosmotropia de Xam. Originally created in 2012 as a faux-Japanese neo-industrial/cyberpunk take on witch house, DM quickly became one of my favourite projects of his. I was pleasantly surprised to see a notification in my mailbox that a new EP had been released under this banner, 11 years after his last album. It's worth appreciating that de Xam is trying to do something new here, taking the Machine into acid territories of dance music, with the help of his latest muse, Violette de Lestrange, on vocals. However, the songs sound quite flat - the bass in particular feels deflated and not loud enough. My favourite cut, "Mon Corps Ton Paradis", takes me back to 2010 and the Hype Williams reign with its wonky synth, but is slightly let down by the lifeless drums. I think the idea to push the boundaries was great, but the final product is lacking the soul of 90s rave.

Beauty dropped this 2-track EP on Soundcloud ten days ago. Ethereal ambient-pop, living up to its author's name. Stream both tracks here. Fingers crossed that the download version is coming soon.
The b-side here is the winner, it's quite amazing it won't end up on the album!

First posthumous album of Ras G, released by his fam and estate. "Blunts Rolled" is a fat serving of sixteen smoked up, dusty joints that will appeal to all the beat heads out there, crafted by one of the best new wave beatmakers that ever lived. Rest in peace Ras.
You can buy the vinyl (in two colourways) and tapes here.
Voodoo Crystals returns with a new solo album after the excellent collab with The Implicit Order last year. "Chaos" was released last month via Phantasma Disques and, following D&D guidance, can be classified as "chaotic good." I swear, no one makes music like Adam; the album is loaded with delirious electro and no-wave witch house, building a universe of possessed hyperpop. Listening to this project feels like stepping through the mirror into Wonderland and jumping on the wildest ride in the theme park while high on sugar and adrenaline. Amazing stuff.

Shō, the latest signee to the amazing Language Instinct, is Berlin-based musician Florian Sankt. On "Radio Silence" he delves into the world of modern classical influences, weaving them into cinematic ambient pieces that evoke a feeling of longing and loneliness. Sad and beautiful music.

"Searching Hell" is the title of the latest album from Berlin-based industrial/techno producer Emad Dabiri aka SARIN. The album is a juicy slab of industrial body music set in the indistinct future, drawing from cyber past of EBM as well as post-Skynet world building. One hell of a record. Out now on vinyl, released by SARIN's own X-IMG records. Recommended.

Pepsy descends to the third level of hell to deliver this third volume of his possessed witch-core for the tormented mortals. Sonic mayhem of the eternal rave. Free download here.
Brand new ambient piece from Arsenic Tongue. Proper chill drone bliss, perfect jam for a mellow Saturday evening. Check it out here.
Open World is a new sister label of Pure Life, launched to focus on lo-fi techno, trance and house. They're kicking off this new venture with three releases, once of them being this two-track banger from Legacy System. F-U to all the rules and rave on could be the motto of this single. Uncompromising proto-post-jungle mutations on track 1 are paired with lo-fi heater on side B. Fucking ace. Free download too, don't miss this one.
French producer Fodboldklub cooks up incredible ambient/kraut soundscapes on his latest album "Mangrove 71". Three tracks, each longer than the last, will take you on a cosmic voyage to a swampy planet outside of our constellation. The sound of this record teleports me back to the late 2000s and the tape revival era. Great stuff to play as background music or to zen out to.

"Death Signal" is the latest compilation from the experimental noise label Deathbed Tapes, showcasing a huge selection of artists that channel "...frequencies (that) were never meant to be heard". The resulting compilation is a twisted excursion into a leery corners of the sonic spectrum - expect dark ambient, industrial, drone, noise and even blackened beats. Sick sick sick.

While the gates of hell remain wide open, the stench of rotting cadavers perversely lingers in the air, filling the nostrils of reluctant passengers from the otherworld. Helplessly eyeing ways to escape from this infernal place their ears are gradually assaulted with the noises one can describe as hissing incantations. Imps and demons will feast tonight.
Natural Orthodoxy's opening composition that pairs the gloomiest death industrial landscape with Sylvia Plath's poem "Daddy" may be one of the most incredible songs I've heard in last few years. "Modernity" originally came out in 2016 under his previous monkier UVB-76, and it has finally received a physical reissue thanks to Bone Valley. Absolutely devouring and engulfing release, that hits even harder in the modern fascistic world.

Exorcism in cassette format, possessed shit. No idea who SANIA is to be honest, but this album sounds like a black noise mass where they try to channel Quebrus. Dope. Order here.
Abstract aural musings from the experimental guru Louis Johnstone. "Eternal Swing" consists of 17 occurences of musique iphonète recorded for the working class and future, post-internet cabinet of curiosities' explorers. Weirdos unite. Free download, but support this good soul.

White Columns returns with a brand new live set recorded on the Australian radio show theeNoWShoW, on December 28 last year. "Crusher of Fun" is a 30-minute mix of avant experiemental, noise improv and neo-classical piano motifs. This sounds and feels like a live scoring of a modern horror movie.

Bow Church has been delivering stellar work for years, so it's no surprise that his latest album "Unknown Realms" is rad as hell. Futuristic witch house meets sino-grime. It's an alluring sonic journey from start to finish, with amazing track arrangements that kept me guessing what would come next. Don't sleep on this one!

New EP from Jardine just landed in my mailbox, so I'm pleased to report it's out now! Heavy witch-rap transmissions, new wave rock.

Minimal ambient folk album from Chaz Knapp, released by Aural Canyon. Inspired by the winter season, he delivers here ten songs that explore the season's impact on acoustic improvisation. While born out of cold, the music makes me feel quite warm and cosy, sort of total opposite to Ben Frost's "By The Throat", which one could argue also tackled similar setup. Give it a spin, great album.
There are only a couple of tapes left for sale, so don't sleep. Get them here.
