Nights Templar - Hey Jealousy

I must admit, I haven't followed Nights Templar for a while, and he's been super profilic. His new EP "Hey Jealousy" was just released on limited lathe cut and cosists of four radical joints that sit in this cosy space between minimal synth, bedroom lo-fi and post-punk. Really enjoyed this bunch!

The records are still available for purchase, so don't snooze. Click here.

Animal Lust & The Angel Of The Enemy - Nothing Moves Me But Loathing

This is some evil shit! New collaborative release between Animal Lust and The Angel Of The Enemy will take you to the most visceral places occupied by fear and dread. Harsh noise power electronics. Free download, at your own responsibility.

Ourobonic Plague - NC-XP1: Fresh Out

On "NC-XP1: Fresh Out" Ourobonic Plague delivers a mutant bastard child of dubstep and witch house, a crossover that's been attempted plenty of times before (with mixed results), but this one should land well with both bass heads and old school witchy fans. The track is backed with a ridiculously stretched drone edit, that is giving Justin Bieber 800% Slower vibe. One to get lost in. Download the single here.

3nz1o - No Going Back

Vertigo Cult is at it again. 3nz1o is a young Belgian producer who showed up on my radar thanks to STRFLL (who, by the way, contributed to the artwork for this EP). "No Going Back" is his first, fully fleshed-out EP that sounds like old school witch house with a modern edge. It is an amazing project from start to finish, Enzio manages to pull off uplifting vibes despite the genre's gloomy roots, and he sounds like a younger cousin of SALEM in a way. That first drop in "Wounded f4wn" is just beautiful. One to watch for the future!

You can download here, and stream it below.

Cementation Anxiety - Ruinate In Glacier

Language Instinct welcomes back Kyle Nelson's Cementation Anxiety project for the third time, this time with a new 20-minute album "Ruinate In Glacier". Based on the title, I'm sensing a thematic continuity being constructed here, with CA once again inviting the listener to join him for an exploration across the ice-cold ambient landscapes and desolate dronewaves.

There are some beautifully produced tapes still available here. Stream the album below.

NC Ives - IDK

Following the footsteps of April's instant-classic record "Home Sweet Home", NC Ives linges in his hypnagogic pop realm a little longer to deliver this charming new single "IDK". It's marked on his Bandcamp with a note "guitar version", so it's fair to say there must be a more electronic rendition of this song somewhere... Anyway, it's amazing, and you can purchase it here. Support this guy, he's amazing!

Textbeak - Entropy Lock feat. Antoni Maiovvi

Mike Textbeak is set to release his new album "Asemic Musick" via Detroit Industrial on 5 December, and I'm happy to present the second single promoting the project. "Entropy Lock" sits on a liminal edge between minimal industrial and dark electro, and features guest vocals from Antoni Maiovvi, who has appeared on the pages of this blog under many of his producer guises. Antoni was actually kind enough to share a few thoughts about his lyrics: "While I can never say for sure where songs come from, people who have met me will know me to be quite a jovial person in real life, but for some reason the vast majority of the songs I’ve written have been fairly to very dark. I also don’t want to misdirect anyone from being able to project their own thoughts and feelings and interpretations on my words, but in order to not go full David Lynch and explain nothing, I will say that the central theme could be interpreted as: change." "Asemic Musick" follows up the 2021 remix LP "Sick For Songs A Season Eats Remixes" and delves into themes of confusion, chaos and magick in the current zeitgeist. You can pre-order the album here.

Pharmacist - First Responder

Image

Here's a special delivery from the ever-amazing city of Chicago: Pharmacist has made a mix for Mutant Zones that will blow your shoes off, serving some exclusive tracks mixed with older classics. If you haven't read my interview with him yet (catch up here), the "First Responder" mix is a brilliant peek into the mind of one of the most exciting producers of his generation. An incredible selection that spans multiple genres, it will make you feel something special insight. Stream the mix above, and download it here.

\\\^◊^/// - Bird Of Prey EP

The moment I saw that Cosmotropia de Xam's side project \\\^◊^/// released a new EP, I was hyped - his two Hoüse Öv Drüg mixtapes are incredible and still hold up, but I'm not fully sold on "Bird Of Prey". While there's a thin veil of cohesion somewhere in there, the EP ultimately sounds like a bunch of random tracks thrown together. Each one is interesting on its own, but when listened to together, they just come off as an odd mix. The opening track felt like it dragged on forever. The dragged ballad "∂ ∏ ∑ ƒ" sounds like something taken from a zombie rave mixtape, yet here it's wedged between two spooky ambient soundscapes. I like all the creepy elements of the EP (with "Δ Ω" being my favourite track), but the deconstructed industrial/nu-metal elements feel a bit off for this particular project. Personally, I think they'd make more sense under a different alias. My last moan will be the AI cover artwork - in 2023 this could pass as novelty, now it just looks bad.

Digital version is available here. There are CD copies here. Stream below.

The Implicit Order - They Live In The Sky (2025 Remaster)

Anthony's 1997 (!) cassette got remastered and uploaded to Bandcamp. Amazing blend of ambient and musique concrète, from one of my favourite experimental producers out there.

Morgve - Samhain Rites

Halloween special from MORGVE! "Samhain Rites" is a four-track collaborative EP released for the season of the witch, featuring tracks with Brazilian witch-trap producer KenoKult, French experimentalist [lyn] and German wild card Pepsy. On top of those, we're getting a brand new song "Take It Away", which is a-ma-zing, perfect for dancing in a trance around the graveyards.

Support the crew here for $6.66 USD. Stream below or on Youtube here.

C4$ - Broken Dreams

C4$ (aka Curses 4 $ale) is a noise alias of the witch house legend Ceremonial Dagger, who recently resurfaced on social media and returned to making music. "Broken Dreams", released via Bone Valley on September 19, is a whirlwind of experimental, industrial and noise elements and radio transmissions that collide and blend into an almost horror-themed sonic narrative.

The EP can be purchased in CD format directly from the label. Stream it below.

STRFLL - To Black / Down

Image

STRFLL covered not one, but two singles from Ritualz, and the result couldn't be better! "To Black" was the lead single from the 2018 album "Doom", while "Down" was originally released on the outtake LP "Gloom". STRFLL vocals make both edits sounds darker and more sinister - "Down" in particular sounds eerie as fuck, like a soundtrack for vampire hunting. You can stream both tracks here, but I hope they will appear on Bandcamp soon.

Shlohmo - Chore Boy Feat. Salem // video

"

Lead single from Shlohmo's new album "Repulsor", which came out today (the album, not the music video). I haven't had a chance to check the longplay yet, but it should be a solid record. The SALEM-featuring track is ok, but to be honest sounds like a off-cut from "Fires In Heaven". Great video though.

Dead Hands - Ode To Geri

Dead Hands is one of my favourite new artist names, so I'm checking out all his new stuff by default these days. "Ode To Geri" is a three track noise pill, that will drill itself into your psyche if you let it loose unattended for a while. Featuring screams and shouts, the EP will not let you fall asleep until you repent for your sins in your mind. Or you can just call it sonic zombie apocalypse. Fucking ace.

Check it out here, and stream it below.

[lyn] - Dreamaturgie

"Dreamaturgie" is the latest EP from experimental French producer and vocalist [lyn]. Inspired by theatre, the release can be experienced as a three-act piece and an intermission at the end, with each chapter exploring a different genre. Acid techno, playful house, and droning ambient soundscapes showcase the range of their author, while the 14-minute closing track "Dialogue" offers a glimpse into the eclectic club sound curated by [lyn] - uniquely coloured by his signature Gregorian chants.

Buy the album from the label here, or directly from [lyn] here. Stream below.

OKKVLT KΛTT - Aon Ní // video

"

Pepsy cooked this lo-fi, grainy, red-themed music video for Katt's single "Aon Ní", lifted from his last year's album "Mo Áthas". The album will (finally) get a physical release thanks to the Séance crew, hopefully before the end of the year.

Aesop Rock - I Heard It's A Mess There Too

Surprise and free album from Aesop Rock? Yes, please! Well, free-ish, it was available for a couple of days, before the files were replaced with 'buy now' link. "I Heard It's A Mess There Too" is fun, approachable and surprisingly catchy. It takes me back to the backpack rap era - not the Def Jux style, but rather the more funky, boom-bappy hip-hop. Apparently the whole project started off as a one-line that couldon't leave Ian's head, and slowly evolved into this fully fleshed out project. Dope.

Support A-Rock here and order physicals here. Digital version is currently available here.

The Implicit Order - Ember In The Dark

Image

The Implicit Order kills on this one. "Ember In The Dark" starts as a creepy, lo-fi harsh noise wall, and half way through evolves into an angelic ambient theme before coming down crashing into the noise dirge from the beginning. Not sure if this will be re-released somewhere at the later date, but you can stream it here.

Human Hollow - Eraser

"Eraser" is Human Hollow's new horror-themed EP that came out just a few days ago. I blogged about the singles "Playind Dead" and "Delgado" a while back, so it's great to get the full set all in one place. The dark, season-appropriate themes fit the music - HH's sound is more gothic and EBM-flavoured, which matches the lyrics and delivery. The opening song "Puppy Love" should be a total jam for all fellow 80s slasher fans!

Buy the EP here and stream it in full down below.

The Implicit Order - Revenant Echoes

Six essentials from The Implicit Order's discography, fleshing out his most horror-leaning productions composed over the years. Dark ambient, industrial, drone and a plethora of creepy samples - "Revenant Echoes" is a perfect soundtrack for the end of October. Incredible stuff from start to finish, out now on Bone Valley.

Order 3" CDR here, and stream the EP down below.

Ourobonic Plague - Verdegoria: A Green Annex Meditation

"Verdegoria: A Green Annex Meditation" is Ourobonic Plague's latest long-form sound sculpture. Built from marbled ambient textures, Nick manages to capture the full spectrum of the genre - from cosmic drone, through dark and gloomy ambient and bass, to more cinematic synth soundscapes. Check it out here.

Scattered Purgatory, Dis Fig - Diaspora

Now this is a collab I wasn’t expecting to see - Taiwanese drone-rockers Scattered Purgatory have enlisted Dis Fig's vocals for their new doomed trip-hop single "Diaspora". It sounds like the intro to a nu-metal track that's evolved into a fully fleshed-out song - I know it may sound odd, but it actually works. You can stream and buy the track here.

Melancholic Crossroads - Alice In The Mirror

The new EP from Melancholic Crossroads "Alice In The Mirror" is giving serious Aural Sects vibes. Think Peachblack and Spell Hound, heavy dancefloor-leaning potentialm returining to the house in witch-house.

Buy/download here, and stream all four tracks below.

Saturday, 18 October 2025

New Romantics - Low Stakes

"Low Stakes", the new single from New Romantics, sounds like the most 80s thing ever, created with Halloween vibe in mind. The track promotes his upcoming album "No Life" that will come out on 13th of December. You can pre-order the vinyl here.

Primitive Gauze - Witch Of Mirrors

Primitive Gauze returns to Hibernian Leather with "Witch Of Mirrors", a dark ambient tape cosisting of two suites filled with late-night drones and noisy soundscapes. Solid aural warm-up for the Halloween season.

Morgue File - 01-12

Morgue File's "01-12" compiles the first three cassette demos, originally released via his bandcamp in 2023. This collection serves as a perfect introduction to Daniel's morbid ambient and minimal noise electronics. Best consumed at night, on headphones, and in one sitting. Incredibly atmospheric death music.

Stream the whole collection below, and cop the digital version here.

Candle Ea†er - ||Praxis||

"||Praxis||", the new album from Candle Ea†er may be his best one so far. The record opens with the dark ambient track "Sleep", which serves as a dystopian scene-setter for the huge industrial-techno anthem "Obsidian Blood" that follows - that injection of sonic adrenaline is simply amazing. As we reach the middle part of the album, starting with "Hollows", the mood shifts towards more possessed and horror-inspired sound, really fleshing out the witch-house style that channels Dario Argento's films. "Praxis" doesn't stop there though - it constantly evolves as tracks move from one to another, rotation tempos, subgenres and moods. This one will definitely have a lot of replay value going forward. Recommended!

Cop the album here and stream all the tracks down below.

Animal Lust - You Are Not Welcome Here

New offering from Animal Lust is a study of primal instincts told through industrial noise, power electronics and harsh noise wall. Occasionally featuring ungodly samples, the album is a fucking wrecking ball to one's peacefull evening. Raw and loud.

Pure Bliss - Stay

Image

Beauty and Loneleff dropped their first single as Pure Bliss a few months back and then went quite for a while. Luckily, yesterday "Stay" dropped unnanounced, and made me hyped up again for their collaboration. Although the track is super short and in a way feels like a build-up before something bigger, it's still a pure bliss to listen the them two. Love it. Stream here.

New Mexican Stargazers - Live 10-6-25

Brand new live album from NMS, released as a free gift to all Bandcamp subscribers. If you follow his account, you should have acces to the community section, where Carter is sharing download codes for it. It's a lo-fi collage of sounds from across the sonic universe, rooted in his vapor-psychedelia. Because the album is "hidden", I cannot link it here for streaming.

Hemorrhage Therapy - Vessel

Hemorrhage Therapy duo are back with a 20-minute long noise mayhem, split across two tracks released on cassette tape. Side A delivers harsher, more in-your-face power electronics noise - mindfuckery without borders or rules, pure hardcore. Side B on the other hand, channels a calmer harsh noise wall that contrasts nicely with the previous experience.

Stream the EP (?) below, and cop the tapes here. I was told only 23 copies were made.

Osaki Seiichi - In The Footsteps Of A Lost Book Hidden In The Jungle Temple

Osaki Seiichi is an ambient composer from Japan, whose previous album "The Tale of a Long Forgotten Sunken City" enchanted me with its alluring underwater themes. Just a couple of days ago, his second record, "In the Footsteps...", was released on Bandcamp, taking the listener on a hiking journey through Japanese hills and valleys, populated by delicate ambient soundscapes and nature-based field recordings. While it may not be as strong as its predecessor, this album still offers a soothing pampering session for the mind. Enjoy.

Download the album for free here.

Silver Tears - Silver Tears

Silver Tears is the new band by Berlin-based musicians Curses and Skelesys. Their self-titled debut was released earlier this month by Avant! Records and should appeal to everyone hungry for solid, gothic-tinted darkwave and post-punk. I don't want to diminish Skelesys' input on this album, but it seriously sounds like the follow-up to "Incarnadine" I've been waiting for. It's not as good, but the vibe is totally there. It's been on repeat almost every day since I discovered it.

Buy the album on CD and vinyl here. Stream below.

Banal Minutiae - Lorentz4

Image

Banal Minutiae posted a couple new tracks on his Soundcloud, "Lorentz4" being my favourite. Incredibly cinematic and atmospheric synth piece that gradually picks up tempo with the addition of the drums - the whole thing feels like an intro to a 80s style movie featuring Tom Cruise. Stream here.

Sunday, 28 September 2025

STRFLL - Untitled

STRFLL's four-track EP arrived at the end of Summer 2025, following the acclaimed debut album "In Memoriam". It’s probably their most hip-hop-leaning release in a while, packed with fat beats and heavy bass.

Buy the EP here, and stream it below.

Friday, 26 September 2025

Ghost Cop - A Shot In The Dark (Houses Of Heaven Remix)

Oakland's Houses of Heaven remixed Ghost Cop's single "A Shot In The Dark", delivering a sick EBM take to the already tek-leaning single. Everything, from the drums and synths to the surprising tambourine, is perfect. Buy it here.

NonCanonDeath - Sleep Within Me

NonCanonDeath, also known as Cazvra, is an experimental electronic producer from Indiana whose project oscillates between noise-ambient and lo-fi beats. "Sleep Within Me" is his debut album for Language Instict, where it found home for its grainy textures and desolate soundscapes.

Download "Sleep Within Me" here. Stream it below.

Tess Conway & The Implicit Order - Western Plains

Image

Tess Conway and The Implicit Order joined forces to create this late-night ambientgaze single "Western Plains". It drifts somewhere between the realm of dreams and the edge of a moonlit lake, where the sounds of nature gently weave into a soundscape that is both blissful and slightly eerie. The track will appear at some point on Anthony's upcoming compilation "Singles 4". In the meantime, you can download and stream this collaboration here.
